Congratulations on completing Workshop 2! From learning to engage with parents, to including them in the classroom and school community, you are now up to your third and final preparation for Workshop 3 – classroom implementation. Prior to this, please complete the below feedback form

Our next workshop will revolve around classroom implementation, specifically how to communicate effectively and respectfully whilst maintaining engagement with students. Resources below give some insightful information and skills to begin developing now in preparation for our students arriving in a few weeks. Workshop 3 will be held on February 3rd. Prior to this workshop, perusal of these resources as listed below would be beneficial.
Classroom Implementation
Creating a Trans-languaging Classroom
This resource implements 5 ways in which as teachers, we can create a classroom that encourages and celebrates other languages. From labelling desks in both languages, to allowing students of who speak the same native language as each other, work together.
Beginning ESL
This book is ideal for teachers who are beginning to teach students of EAL/D students. It contains worksheets for students to build their capacity in everyday language learning situations. Using this book will accommodate an easier transition for both us as teachers and for the students.
EAL/D Learning Area Annotations
The following links lead to the curriculum annotations for EAL/D students. These links are for Foundation to Year 10 in English, Mathematics, Science and History. These annotations take key content descriptors and propose EAL/D considerations surrounding culture and language as well as teaching strategies to overcome these.
