Welcome Year 3 & 4! This page is all about accepting differences and making our new friends feel welcome at school. We encourage you to have discussions with your families about what are differences and what we can do to make our new students a part of our community.
Curriculum Guidelines
This first link is defining what an EAL/D student is. The document is quite complex but it gives a good overview as to what is to be expected. Our new students don’t speak much English, so being familiar with ways in which to help them is very important.
Immersive Reader
Immersive Reader is an add-on application to Microsoft Word and we would like you to download it. The app translates documents and worksheets for our new students to read them in their own language. We want you to learn how to use this so you can Be a Buddy and help our new students learn to use it too.
Diversity
This video is a small talk on diversity. He touches on a friendship of his that has made him accept others and that being different is what makes us AWESOME!
