Welcome to your go to website for Edenvale SS. This page will give you resources to introduce you to our school, as well as key documents our teachers use. We are here to give you guidance and make this challenging transition a little easier. The resources listed below are for you, take your time to read them and don’t be afraid to ask us if you have any questions. We hope you enjoy our school.
Parent and Caregiver’s Association
The P&C Association is a group of parents who work together as a team to make our school better. They organise movie nights, bake sales, sports carnival volunteer work and many other things. We strongly encourage you to reach out to the president of the P&C Association so you can join edenvalep&c@edenvaless.com.au
If you choose to join the P&C Association, you will make new friends in the school, and can be more involved in community activities.
Immersive Reader
Immersive Reader is an application to put on your phone and your computer at home. It helps translate school forms and bills that you will get. This application is free if you come and see the admin staff to help you set it up. We encourage you to get it to make communication easy.
Reading Books in Languages other than English
The following links are for books in languages other than English. Your children will also be given this link and we encourage you to talk with them and choose some books you would like. In the first week of school, we will be asking you to nominate books for the school to purchase as home readers, as well as in the library.

Maintaining your Native Language at Home
This is very important – we encourage you to speak your native language at home. Do not feel pressured to speak English as your child is already an expert in one language it will make learning a second language much easier. It will also allow them to develop a cultural connection and gain a sense of identity. We want your children to be successful multilingual language speakers, and we cannot do this without you.
The tuckshop menu will be located at the tuckshop so your child/ren can point to the food they want. We thought it could be helpful having this at home as well.
